Thank you once again for all your wonderful support during these very difficult and worrying times. September has seen a dip in trade and with it comes the new government rules, restricting our business even further.

To keep you in the picture, you are now required to wear a mask when entering the building and moving around, whether that be shop or pub. Once you are seated at your table, you can of course remove your mask and relax.

There will be no bar service at all from Thursday 24th September and everyone will be escorted to a table and given table service. We completely understand that this is not what everyone wants, it’s not what we want either but we must try to keep everyone safe. We are asking that you please give us as much notice and book wherever possible to enable us to staff correctly and not keep you waiting. If you can book a little earlier than your usual time that would be a great help as we are now unable to serve anyone past 10pm. Please do bear with us in these difficult times, we need your continued support to get through the difficult winter months.

So what’s new???

Many of you took advantage of the new government Eat out to Help Out scheme during August and it was a great success. We have decided to run the scheme again during October every Wednesday and offer the same deal except this time it’s on us and not Rishi. Remember to book your table in advance as we expect this to be very popular. Here’s a brief reminder of what to expect.

  • Get a 50% discount on food or non-alcoholic drinks to eat or drink in (up to a maximum of £10 discount per diner)
  • Use every Wednesday between 7th and 28th October as many times as you like.
  • You do not need a voucher to use this scheme and you can use it at the same time as other offers and discounts.
  • There is no minimum spend.
  • You cannot claim discount on alcoholic drinks or service charges.

TAKE AWAY

We are still running our take away service which includes most of our menu items and gives you a 15% discount.

We are also now in possession of take away pouches for your favourite beer. They hold 5.2 pints……we’ll fill them up for you to take home and only charge you for 4 pints, the rest is on us with thanks.

LOYALTY SCHEME

The scheme is now fully operational, please enquire if you would be interested in joining.

SHOP

The shop has lost its momentum which we fully expected when things got back to normal. This was a service introduced to help the village community and in doing so help us to keep the doors open during lock down. It’s entirely in your hands whether we continue to operate it and we will be making decisions towards the end of October about its future so if it is something that you would like to keep, please use it. If sales don’t increase we will be forced to reduce it back to alcohol and snack sales and claim back the space for the pub.

We are very grateful to those of you who continue to support us on a regular basis, we couldn’t do it without you.

Shop opening hours remain 9-12 in the morning and pub hours in the evening as below:
