BARROW BOWLING CLUB MEMBERSHIP DETAILS – 2023
The club annual membership is £25 (£15 for Juniors under 18 years of age) due when
the season starts in the Spring. Once you are a member you can use the green at any
time there is not a competition on, though it is effectively closed from around
Mid-October till late March as it’s not cut to a suitable length between these two dates.
You can take guests, who don’t have to be registered with the club.

The club has spare bowls and jacks which we are happy to loan out to help get you
started. Most members eventually obtain their own bowls. Informal group practice
sessions are 2PM on a Monday afternoon and Sunday afternoon starting at 4:30PM.
The Sunday practice is usually followed by a trip to the pub.

If you want to play in the league games, Cheshire County and British Registration costs
£15 as a one off cost. The club will discount your membership by £10 if you register in
your first year. There is a fee of £2 to be paid to the club for each league game you play
which is collected on the day. Chester League games are Monday night starting at 6pm
and running from Mid-April till Mid-September. Norley League games are Tuesday
afternoons starting 2PM from Mid-April till late August. The Frodsham League games
are Wednesday evenings usually starting at 7PM and they run from Mid-April till
Mid-September. Typically a match takes just over 2 hours, and usually with a tea break
half way through.

When and where you meet:
Social Bowling on Sunday afternoons from March till September. Matches
during the summer bowling season (April till September) on the
following days: Monday Evening (Chester League); Tuesday afternoons
(Norley League); Wednesday evenings (Frodsham League). The bowling
green is situated next to the pavilion building at Great Barrow
playing fields.
