There’s a new running group in Barrow

Barrow Buzzard Runners now meet on the Playing Field on Saturday mornings at 10am for a friendly 5K run. Ollie’s unique trail route has been designed to minimise time on the road and takes in some of the loveliest parts of the parish, using our wonderful network of footpaths. All ages and paces are welcome. Whether you fancy a gentle jog or something a bit quicker you’ll be in good company. We plan to vary the routes, with some more road running over the winter as Barrow gradually becomes more of an island than a village on a hill. The first couple of sessions have been great fun and it’s been especially good to see different family generations enjoying the run together. The first two editions of our newsletter “THE BUZZARD” will be up on the Parish web site very soon, along with some photos and we’re also keeping people up to date on the Care For Barrow WhatsApp group.

Thanks to everyone who has joined us so far and a special thank you to Juliet & Julie for being there at the end to cheer us home and provide the much-appreciated tea, biscuits and treats!

There will be a Great Barrow Run at some point over the next few weeks – details to follow!
