BARROW & LITTLETON TWINNING ASSOCIATION

The villages of Barrow and Littleton are twinned with Aubignan, a small town in the Provence region in the south of France. The Twinning Association dates back to May 1986, originally between Barrow and Aubignan and in 1990 the village of Littleton joined.

The town lies in the heart of the Cotes du Rhone wine-growing region. Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles form a dramatic backdrop and the area is characterised by pretty hilltop villages, vineyards and an abundance of lavender fields and olive groves.

Larger towns such as Avignon, Carpentras, Cavaillon and Orange are nearby.

Every four years we visit Aubignan to stay at the homes of members of the Aubignan Twinning Association and enjoy their kind hospitality and fabulous food. In return, the villagers of Aubignan visit us and we hold regular social events during the year in order to raise money to entertain them when they are here.

Our active social calendar includes quiz nights, boules competitions, BBQS, all of which are fun events and a good way to enjoy some good food, meet up with old friends as well as to make new ones.

Our informal AGM followed by an excellent supper is held in February each year in Barrow Village Hall.

Our events are advertised in the Barrow Parish magazine, the A41 & Gowy Magazine and on the Littleton Parish Council website: www.littletonparish.com

We are actively seeking new members to participate in our social events and to foster our relations with Aubignan. It is not necessary to speak French although this is always appreciated and members can come from any of the surrounding villages, not just from Barrow & Littleton.
