BARROW PARISH COUNCIL

Meet the newly elected Parish Councillors:-

Katie Jones
I’m Katie Jones, I live in the village with my husband Andy, our little girl Aoife and our dog Winston. We moved into the village roughly 12 months ago after doing some renovations to our house. I’m self employed and run a holiday let business. I’m mostly to be found walking with the dog and backpack. We’re always keen for people to join us or just say hello as we go past!

Julia Tillotson
I have lived in the village for about 25 years, and am married with two children.
Following a career in law, I am now a school Governor. I help out at the school and at Lunch Group, and I am a member of the Barrow Community History Group.

I look forward to working on the Council for the benefit of the village.

Andy Porter
I have run a communications and film company for over 20 years and am passionate about sport, the outdoors, the arts and the sustainability of our beautiful village.
Married to Kathy, I’ve lived in Barrow since 1991 and both our children attended Barrow Primary School. As a volunteer I’ve enthusiastically participated in multiple Village Balls, Bonfires and Christmas Tree erections.

John Okell
My family and relatives have enjoyed living at The Croft, Great Barrow for over 100 years. Historically the family have been textile traders in the port of Liverpool and more recently here in Great Barrow. Now retired, the business is carried on by younger members of the family allowing me more time to become involved in the local community.

Paul Rossington
Sally and I moved into the village in early 2019 having both retired in 2017. I previously worked in accountancy and having worked in practice I was then Finance Director of a number of businesses including IT, distribution, civil engineering and pubs. My interests include gardening, food and wine and travel. I also am a volunteer at Beeston Castle.

Janet Walsh

I moved into the village 20 years ago and currently live with my husband, two adult children and three dogs. I have a medical background, specialising in psychiatry and I am also a qualified mediator. I reduced my working hours a couple of years agoso that I can spend more time enjoying the countryside, gardening and hopefully, contributing to village life.
