GARDEN WHEELIE-BIN SUBSCRIPTIONS

From Monday 28th February 2022 the Cheshire West & Chester Council (CWAC) is imposing an extra charge of £40 per bin, per year to have the green garden waste wheelie bins collected.

Garden waste bins will not be emptied without a valid subscription and displayed permit.

The new service will provide fortnightly collection over 40 weeks per year, with a suspension outside the growing season of 12 weeks (December to February).

The £40 charge is per bin that is collected and there will be no limit to the number of garden bins that residents can subscribe to.

What to do with your current garden waste bins

CWAC asks residents to hold on to the green bins for the time being, regardless of whether you want to subscribe to the new service or not. After the transition period CWAC will put in place arrangements to remove unwanted bins.

How to subscribe to the new service.

Payments will be taken with a valid credit or debit card. Once paid there is a 14-day period when you can change your mind and receive a full refund. After 14 days no refunds will be paid.

You will receive your permit in the post and stick it to your bin.

To pay go to http://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk and navigate to “ Waste & Recycling.”

Full details are on the CWAC website
